Factory original stage 1 V8 version of the series 3 Land Rover 109, limited production as a V8 predecessor for the later Land Rover Defender.

This V8 stage 1 Land Rover station wagon was produced in 1980 for the Dutch market as a civil edition people carrier with 9 seats. The car was delivered in Limestone with a safari roof as optional extra. The stage 1 V8 is a very unique and rare model, produced in limited numbers of which even fewer survive in good condition. Since this is a 1980 model, this Land Rover is fully exempt of road tax in The Netherlands.

The stage 1 models were factory fitted with many options like power steering, tinted glass, permanent 4-wheel drive, stronger front and rear axles, brake servo, bonnet lock and mud flaps.

This Land Rover has been fully restored by its previous owner. As a base for this restoration, a solid and fully original rust free car that required no welding was used. The car has received many extra upgrades to make it a comfortable and reliable daily driver. A modern fully rebuild 5-speed gearbox and transfer box were fitted. Front and rear heavy duty propshafts were hand made to fit this new transmission. The engine is build around a high compression block, Edelbrock inlet manifold and a modern carburettor setup. Furthermore the car is fitted with a tow bar, rev counter, Wolf wheels, front seat belts and head rests, headlamp mesh stone guards and lockable petrol filler cap. Recently ?15.000,- Euro was spent on a full service, upgrades and further improvements to make this Land Rover ultimately comfortable and reliable.

For the past years this Land Rover has been our company car but due to limited use nowadays it is offered for sale.
