During its life in Portugal the car was completely restored and received its current original Mini colour scheme of Speedwell Blue with a white roof. In 2019 the Mini was imported into the Netherlands and after a full service and a rolling road dyno tuning of the engine, received its current Dutch EU registration.
Comes with some spare parts such as its original Super de Luxe front bumper with guards and hub caps. Now fitted with a battery master switch, a sump guard, driver’s side wing mirror and rear mud flaps. A factory floor mounted starter swith is another nice detail of this early mk1 Mini.
The first mk1 series of Austin and Morris Mini’s were produced between 1959 and 1967 and can be identified amongst others by the external door hinges. The Super de Luxe model is a rare model since it was only offered between October 1962 and September 1964. These Super de Luxe models were fitted with many extra’s compared to the base model: bumpers with overriders and corner bars, full size wheel caps, chrome window trim and number plate lamp, opening rear quarter windows, vinyl leathercloth seat covering, oval instrument panel with two auxiliary instruments, padded dashboard rails, passenger sun visor, rear passenger ash trays.
